TWU releases new Chapel CD

Langley, British Columbia— On March 31, Trinity Western University Praise Chapel released its sophomore live worship recording “Awaken Our Hearts.” Recorded live in the TWU Gymnasium, the CD features two worship bands leading a crowd of over 700 students in TWU's best-loved worship songs.

Tim McCarthy, a TWU alumnus and current Chapel Coordinator, and Phil Jenion, former Director of Chapel & Extension Ministries at TWU, produced the CD. There are14 songs on the CD and includes five original songs by TWU students.

“The project captures the students' passion and love for Jesus Christ, so evident in our weekly Friday Praise Chapels,” says McCarthy. “The purpose of the project was to glorify God by giving testimony to what He is doing in students' lives through chapel and to inspire people to worship passionately, in spirit and in truth."

The "Awaken Our Hearts" recording comes four years after the release of “Leap for Joy,” TWU's first worship recording. “Leap for Joy” has sold over 5000 copies, making it’s way as far as Florida and Taiwan. Rob Rhea, Executive Producer and Director of Student Ministries at TWU, hopes that this sophomore release will have an even broader impact than the first recording.

“We are thankful - God has clearly had His hand in this project; everything has gone so smoothly and we have received support from every level. We pray that God will awaken many more hearts to His love and power through this recording.”
