Community invited to TWU Music showcase

TWU’s Music department will enchant audiences with a variety of music representing the entire history of Western music. The performance will be held at the University’s Calvin Hanson Chapel on Wednesday, November 27 at 8:00 pm. Features include the TWU Guitar Quartet, Chamber Strings, Renaissance Singers, Brass Quintet and Woodwind Quintet. The concert is an opportunity to introduce the community to the wide variety of Chamber music activity on the campus.

Jon Thompson, the TWU music director who has brought notoriety to his choirs by performing classic pieces from all eras of music, says, “We want to show the breadth of Chamber music; for some ensembles there are 500 years of music to select from, which demonstrates the vast amount of music literature available.” He adds, “The Chamber string orchestra is also making its debut, which is very exciting.”
