TWU offers you a mathematics curriculum that spans the range of courses from statistics to pure to applied mathematics, depending on your career choice. More, you learn mathematics in a Christian liberal arts context, which gives you both an integration of faith and discipline and an interdisciplinary breadth of learning not available at many universities.


Graduates in mathematics have rewarding careers in teaching, industry, business, research and actual science. There are numerous opportunities for mathematics teachers in elementary and secondary grade school and at the college and university level. Many leading research companies recruit mathematics majors for their superior problem-solving and analytical skills.


The TWU program incorporates pure and applied mathematics. Courses include Mathematics for Business, Statistics, Calculus, Complex Analysis, Mathematical Methods of Physics, Geometry, Number Theory, Discrete Mathematics, Numerical Analysis, Differential Equations, Abstract Algebra, and Foundations of Mathematical Sciences. Especially, but not only, in our capstone course, MATH 480 (Foundations of Mathematical Science), our faculty emphasize not only the importance of being equipped to understand, do, and use mathematics, but also to appreciate the many connections mathematics has with science, history, philosophy, theology, and other aspects of culture.
