KELLY LEADS SPARTANS TO WIN

BELLINGHAM, Washington
– Trinity Western University defender Patrick Kelly (Cochrane, Alta.) scored twice to lead the Spartans to a 2-1 win over the Western Washington University Vikings Saturday afternoon in Bellingham, Wash.

Kelly scored the first off a header on a TWU corner kick, while his second came after he broke through the Vikings midfield, split the defenders and went in alone on the Western Washington’s keeper, where he slotted the ball into the corner of the net.

TWU’ Kris Alexander (North Vancouver, B.C.) played the full ninety in net for the Spartans.

Next up for the Spartans is against NCAA Division I Gonzaga University on Sunday, April 15. The match will be at Western Washington at 2 p.m. TWU will then conclude the spring season on Saturday, April 28 when they will travel to Corvallis, Oregon to play Oregon State University. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
