Trinity Western University women’s soccer midfielder Kaleigh Henry will be losing her golden locks on the morning of Wednesday, February 17 in an effort to raise funds for the Vancouver Women’s Shelter and for her mission’s trip with the TWU women’s soccer team to Paraguay this May. In addition she will be donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust a non-profit organization, founded in the United Kingdom, which makes wigs from human hair that is donated for young girls undergoing chemotherapy.

The Spartan men however dropped two matches to the No. 8 Wesmen this weekend and as a result drop two spots from No. 5 to No. 7. The Spartans men’s basketball team remain close to the top ten at No. 13 after sweep of Manitoba and Winnipeg.

LANGLEY, British Columbia –The results of this past weekend sweep of the University of Regina Cougars has kept the Trinity Western University Spartans men’s volleyball team in the identical position as last week in the CIS Top Ten Rankings, while the women have dropped a spot after the weekend split with Regina. The TWU women sit at No. 5 after splitting 0-3, 3-0 with the No. 6 Cougars, while the men stand pat after 3-0, 3-1 wins over Regina. TWU men’s basketball team remains out of the top ten after a pair of road losses to No. 9 Simon Fraser. The Spartan men are currently in 15th spot.

LANGLEY, British Columbia –The results of the Spartans volleyball teams may have only produced one win out of four matches, but that didn’t stop the voters from moving both teams up two spots in the CIS Top Ten Rankings as both volleyball teams moved from sixth to fourth. Meanwhile the Trinity Western men’s basketball team’s sweep on the road moved them into the voting as they finished 14th.

(CIS) – Trinity Western University keeper Andrew Kowan from Richmond, B.C., made a diving penalty kick save and defender Cardin Davis from Salt Spring Island, B.C. hit the penalty kick winner as the Spartans won the second CIS bronze medal in program history with a 2-1 victory (4-2 PK) over Toronto at the CIS men’s soccer championship tournament in Langley, B.C., on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

However, the initial men’s and women’s volleyball top ten rankings have the TWU women at No. 8 and the men at No. 10, which gives the Spartans four for four in having teams ranked in the top ten. The basketball rankings will come out later this month.
