A LOOK AT THE WEEK AHEAD FOR THE TWU SPARTANS

LANGLEY, British Columbia
–This week in Spartans action, the Spartan basketball teams and hockey team play their last games of the fall semester. The hoop teams will match up against the University of the Fraser Valley, while on the ice, the men’s hockey team plays against the University of Victoria.

In women’s basketball play, the Spartans (1-11) will play the UFV Cascades (4-6) at the Spartan’s court at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. Last week the Spartans last played the University of Winnipeg Wesmen in Winnipeg, falling in both games with scores of 34-62 and 64-68.

The Cascades hold a two game winning streak as they begin their games against the Spartans, after 65-64 and 70-55 wins against the Thompson Rivers University Wolf Pack last week in Abbotsford, B.C.

The Spartans and Cascades meet at 6 p.m. on Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Langley Events Centre, Langley B.C. Live stats and streaming video coverage are available at gospartans.ca.

The No. 7 Spartan men’s basketball team (10-2) hosts the unranked Cascades (4-6) as the Spartans put their eight game winning streak on the line. The Spartans swept the weekend series against the Wesmen in Winnipeg last weekend with game scores of 93-70 and 93-77.

UFV enters the weekend series after two recent wins over the TRU Wolf Pack in Abbotsford, B.C. The Cascades prevailed with scores of 76-71 and 92-79.

The Cascades and Spartans clash on Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m.  The Spartans provide live streaming video and live stats at gospartans.ca.

In the hockey arena, the Spartan hockey team welcomes the University of Victoria to the ice after a breakout win against Selkirk College last weekend. The Spartans succeeded with a 9-1 win over Selkirk, improving their record to 3-1-5.  The Spartans also won an exhibition match against Iowa State University with a score of 7-4.

The University of Victoria boasts a 6-1-3 record as they head into the games against the Spartans. Victoria played to a weekend split in a pair of games against the Okanagan College Coyotes, with Victoria posting a 4-3 loss before fighting back to a 6-3 win.

Trinity Western and Victoria will meet on the ice at 7 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday at the LEC Arena. Video coverage for the games is available on gospartans.ca.
