CANADA WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS HOSTS, DATES ANNOUNCED FOR TRACK & FIELD, SWIMMING

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Canada West conference championship schedules and hosts were announced Friday and for Trinity Western, it’ll be a trip to Regina for the track and field championships Feb. 22-23 and a short jaunt to Victoria for the swimming championships Jan. 25-27.

The Spartans track and field teams will be looking to improve upon their six-medal total from last year at the Canada West championships when they compete for the 2013 conference title at the Regina Fieldhouse.

The swimming teams, which saw Christian Desjarlais post the Spartans top result at last year’s Canada West championships with a fourth place finish in the 400m, will be competing in their second ever conference championships when they travel to Victoria in late January.

The Canada West cross country championships will be determined at the CIS championships, which will be contested Nov. 10 at Western. The Spartans top finisher at last year’s CIS championships was Fiona Benson as she completed the five kilometre course 48th overall and 14th amongst Canada West athletes.
