LANGLEY, British Columbia - On Wednesday night, at the Langley Events Centre, Trinity Western University athletes were recognized and honoured in front of approximately 300 people including fellow athletes, coaches, staff, faculty, sponsors, family, and friends in the annual athletics awards banquet and awards ceremony.

VICTORIA – The University of Victoria Vikes women’s and men’s soccer teams will host the annual Keg Spring Cup, Mar. 23-24, at Centennial Stadium and it will be no strange location for national champions. Defending national champions UBC, for the men, and Trinity Western, for the women, will be competing in the four-team and two-day tournament.

Meanwhile, the Spartans women’s track and field team dropped to No. 8 after a relatively quiet weekend that saw just four athletes competing at the Golden Bear Open. Both of the basketball and swimming teams and the men’s track and field team remained unranked.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – For the first time in Trinity Western history, the Spartans have a track and field team ranked in the CIS Top 10 as the women’s team sits No. 6 in the country following an impressive weekend at the University of Washington Indoor Preview. On the volleyball court, a weekend sweep of Brandon pushed the women’s team back up to No. 2 while the men’s team’s split with Brandon dropped it to No. 3. Both the basketball and swimming teams and the men’s track and field team remained unranked.

The basketball, track and field and swimming teams are all unranked.

The Spartans men’s volleyball team split with Winnipeg on the road and, with its first loss since its season-opener, dropped from No. 2 to No. 3. With both teams earning weekend sweeps of Saskatchewan, they each continued on a similar course as they have both now won seven matches in a row and are 7-1 on the season. The women’s soccer team will begin the Canada West play-offs, the men’s soccer team has their final home games of the year, while the volleyball teams will open Canada West Conference play and the cross-country team will continue prep for CI’s. Meanwhile on the ice the men’s hockey team will get back to BCIHL play.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western women’s soccer team dropped one spot in the CIS Top 10 to No. 3 after losing for the first time all year, falling to Alberta 2-0 Sunday. Prior to Sunday’s loss, the Spartans beat Mount Royal 3-0, which extended their then win streak to eight games. The men’s soccer team had a bye and remained No. 5, while the cross country teams raced in the Western Washington Classic this weekend but remained unranked.
