LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western released its 2014-15 Canada West regular season schedules for the Spartans basketball, soccer and volleyball teams Friday.

LANGLEY, British Columbia - On Wednesday night, at the Langley Events Centre, Trinity Western University athletes were recognized and honoured in front of approximately 300 people including fellow athletes, coaches, staff, faculty, sponsors, family, and friends in the annual athletics banquet and awards ceremony.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – After winning its first ever Canada West championship, the Trinity Western women’s track and field team remained at No. 3 in the latest CIS Top 10 while the Spartans men’s team, after finishing in a tie for second at the conference championships, moved up to No. 8, which is an all-time program best.

On the volleyball court, the Spartans men’s team remained at No. 2 in the final rankings of the season while the women’s team stayed at No. 3.

On the volleyball court, the Spartans men’s team dropped to No. 2 and the women’s team moved up to No. 3 after both sides earned weekend splits with Brandon.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Thanks to a weekend sweep over archrival and previously No. 1 ranked Alberta, the Trinity Western men’s volleyball team moved up to No. 1 in the latest CIS Top 10. Meanwhile, the TWU women’s volleyball team dropped to No. 3 after a split with Alberta and, in the final cross country rankings of the season, the Spartans women finished No. 4 and the men No. 7.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – After being named the MVP of the CIS women’s soccer championship, midfielder Vanessa Kovacs (North Delta, B.C.) was named Canada West 1st Star of Week while fellow Spartan Alison Jackson (Vermilion, Alta.), who won the Canada West gold medal at the CIS cross country championships, was named the 2nd Star of the Week.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – After a pair of road wins this past weekend for both of Trinity Western’s volleyball teams, the women’s side remained No. 2 in the CIS Top 10 while the men’s side stayed at No. 3. The women’s cross country team was off this weekend as it prepares for the CIS national championships Nov. 9, but remained at No. 6. The men’s cross country team fell out of the Top 10 while neither basketball team was ranked.

Both Spartans basketball teams are unranked in the first polls of the season, while the men’s soccer team, which finished its season this past weekend, also is unranked.

The Spartans men’s soccer team remained unranked after back-to-back losses to UBC.
