MEN’S BASKETBALL NO. 7, WOMEN’S NO. 10 IN CANADA WEST POLL  

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western’s men’s basketball team is ranked No. 7 in the Canada West preseason coaches’ poll while the Spartans women’s basketball team opens the season at No. 10 in the conference.
 
With 16 coaches on each side, Alberta hit the maximum 15 first-place tallies for 270 voting points on the men’s side, while the Victoria Vikes were second and received the other top ballot. UBC was not far behind, third in the voting.
 
On the women’s side it was a different story as four teams received first-place votes. The Pandas picked up five first-place votes and 238 points, narrowly ahead of the Fraser Valley Cascades, which also topped five vote lists and a total of 231 points. Claiming top marks from three coaches apiece were Regina and Saskatchewan, ranked third and fourth, respectively.
