LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western released its 2014-15 Canada West regular season schedules for the Spartans basketball, soccer and volleyball teams Friday.

The upcoming campaign will feature a number of firsts across all three sports.

On the basketball court, the Spartans will play a 20-game schedule in the newly-formed 11-team Pioneer Division, which will feature two games against each team within the division.

On the soccer pitch, both the men’s and women’s teams will play their 12-game schedules entirely within the seven-team Pacific Division and, as such, will only play B.C.-based teams.

While the volleyball teams will see little change to their schedules, they will see the addition of MacEwan University to the docket, which will add two extra matches to create what is now a 24-match slate.

The Spartans men’s and women’s basketball teams will open their 2014-15 campaigns with a pair of road games Oct. 31-Nov. 1 against Manitoba.

The following weekend, TWU will host Alberta in its home-opener Nov. 7-8 at the Langley Events Centre, which is a matchup that will feature the defending Canada West champion Golden Bears on the men’s side and, on the women’s side, last year’s Canada West bronze medal-winning Pandas.

One particular weekend Spartans fans won’t want to miss is Jan. 23-24, when TWU hosts local rival UBC.
