Spartans Take Bobcats

Langley, British Columbia - Led by a hot shooting Heidi DeHaan, 12 second-half points, and a tough defense the Trinity Western University women's basketball team turned a 4 point second half lead into a 78-58 victory over the Brandon University Bobcats. The victory in the opening game of the University of Winnipeg Converse Shootout was the first for the Spartans against CIS competition.

"We picked up our defensive intensity in the second half and it showed it self in the final score," said TWU head coach Danielle Gardner. "Heidi kept us in the game, she hit some very key shots for us."

Playing against a physical Brandon team the Spartans still managed to hit their shots. The team shot 63% form the field and 80% form the 3-point line.
