LANGLEY, British Columbia – The 2011 Trinity Western women’s soccer season will go down as two things. It’ll be remembered as one in which the Spartan posted a program best and Canada West leading 12-1-1 record and also won the Canada West gold medal. But, unfortunately, it will also be remembered as one that ended far too soon as the Spartans lost 1-0 (4-1 PKs) to McGill in their quarter-final matchup at the CIS national championships and, with that result, saw their title hopes dashed.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western women’s soccer team signed a major piece of its defensive future Tuesday as coach Graham Roxburgh announced that Burnaby, B.C. defender Lindsey Pulice will join the Spartans in the fall of 2012.

MONTREAL (CIS) – Trinity Western women’s soccer coach Graham Roxburgh was named CIS Coach of the Year, presented by Coaches of Canada, while Spartans goalkeeper Kristen Funk was named a CIS First Team All-Canadian and midfielder Melissa Mobilio was named a CIS Second Team All-Canadian Wednesday night.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – This weekend The Spartans will play their last two Canada West regular season home games at Rogers Park. On October 21 the game against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies will kick off at 5 p.m. Then on the following evening the Spartans will honour their senior athletes at conclusion of their game against the No. 6 University of Alberta Pandas at 5 p.m.

LANGLEY, British Columbia –This weekend the Spartans women’s soccer team will take on the University of Victoria Vikes and the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades at home at Rogers Park in Langley, B.C. The game against the Vikes takes place on October 7 at 5 p.m. while the game versus the Cascades kicks off at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 8.
SPARTANS ROXBURGH AND CIS COACHES 'GO SHOELESS' FOR RIGHT TO PLAY

TORONTO, Right To Play and Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) are joining forces to host "Go Shoeless", an awareness campaign taking place on the weekend of September 16-18, 2011. Coinciding with CBC, True Sport and ParticipACTION's Sports Day in Canada, coaches from over 30 universities will go shoeless to raise awareness for those who do not have access to sports and proper sporting equipment.
