Time for a Break…

Langley, British Columbia –
The Trinity Western University women’s volleyball team dropped to 0-10 in league play after being swept by the University of Manitoba 3-0 (15-17, 25-19, 25-6) on Saturday afternoon in Winnipeg, MB. The win moved the #2 ranked Bisons to 5-1 in league play.

“We played much more consistently in the first two sets tonight, probably the most consistent sets we have had this season,” said TWU Head Coach Carol Hofer. “Unfortunately, we also had one of our most inconsistent sets of the year to finish the match”

Leading the way for the Spartans were Jolene Dryfhout (3rd year, power, Surrey, BC) – 11 kills, 11 digs, 1 service ace and Kristen Groot (1st year, power, Burnaby, BC) – 6 kills and 14 digs.

The Bisons were led by Kathy Hrehirchuk (4th year, middle, Dauphin, MB) – 8 kills, 5 digs and 5 blocks and Laura Grubert (2nd year, leftside, Winnipeg, MB) – 6 kills and 4 digs.

The Spartans are now heading into the midseason break. Their next match is January, 5 & 6 at the University of Calgary.
