Spartans Focus on Next Match

Langley, British Columbia –
The Trinity Western University women’s volleyball team was unable to tame the University of Regina Cougars Friday night. The Spartans left “something” at home as they came out on the wrong end of a 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-10) score to the hometown squad.

Trinity Western (1-6) could not get anything going offensively, and despite keeping their service errors to a minimum with seven, they had only ten set assists (to Regina’s 31).

On the other side of the net, Regina (5-4) was no offensive powerhouse but managed 36 kills for a .265 kill percentage.

Coach Carol Hofer was understandably disappointed, commenting that “we were unfocused and undisciplined, and it cost us the match. Hopefully we can come back refocused tomorrow and ready to play good volleyball.”

TWU plays at Regina again tomorrow night (Saturday) at 8:00pm CST.

Game Notes: Regina’s Tara Smart led both teams with 10 kills…Daelyn Martens led the Spartans with 8 defensive digs…
