SPARTANS HEADING HOME AFTER TRAINING MATCHES IN OKANAGAN

KELOWNA, British Columbia
–The Trinity Western University women’s volleyball team finished their evaluation tour in the Okanagan with a four set loss to the University of Calgary Saturday night. The Spartans fell 25-22, 12-25, 17-25, and 19-25 in the Dinos match. TWU also scrimmaged against Thompson Rivers University and the University of British Columbia-Okanagan during the three day tour.

Andrea Ball was a standout for us tonight, but this weekend was more about seeing what we can put in place in order to get ready for the future,” commented TWU head coach Ryan Hofer. “We haven’t had a lot of six on six so this tour was good for us as we evaluate and see what’s in place and what’s not in place.”

The Spartans will now return home for training before heading out on a tour of top U.S. schools. TWU will play Portland on Sept. 28, Portland State on Sept. 29 and Seattle University on Sept. 30.

“This is a great tool for us as we prepare for next week and get ready for our US tour, where things will be heated up and a lot more pressure on us,” added Hofer.

Trinity Western opens Canada West conference play on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 at the University of British Columbia.
