  • Biography

    Ian Funk, baritone, after completing his studies at the University of Victoria and the Banff Centre for the Arts, Ian has been singing with various opera companies, choirs, and orchestras throughout Canada for the past 20 years. Formally based in Toronto, Ian has performed with Toronto Operetta Theatre, Tapestry New Opera Works, Autumn Leaf Performance, and Queen of Puddings Music Theatre Company. Ian has performed with Vancouver Opera as the Imperial Commissioner (Madama Butterfly) and Gregorio (Romeo et Juliette). With Pacific Opera Victoria he has performed the roles of Masetto (Don Giovanni), Ali (L’Italiana in Algeri), Yamadori (Madama Butterfly), Silvano (Un Ballo in Maschera), and Johann (Werther). Currently, Ian sings with the Vancouver Opera Chorus.
