Trinity Western University provides a wide array of recreational offerings for students, staff/faculty & alumni in our rec facilities. Our expanded Fitness Centre is a great place to start. Completed in the spring of 2015, the Fitness Centre provides a welcoming exercise area on the main floor with a new group fitness and dance studio space on the second floor.

 

Facilities

The TWU Fitness Centre & David Enarson Gymnasium offer exercise and fitness spaces as well as, a full gym, bouldering (climbing) wall and newly renovated locker rooms with showers. Outdoor facilities include: three tennis courts, sand volleyball courts and sport fields. For regular updates on facilities check out the TWU Athletic Facilities Facebook page.

Personal Training Program

Now Available at the TWU Fitness Centre – Low Cost Personal Training with TWU’s own Student Trainers!
These students have been through the Human Kinetics personal training program (or external certification) and extensive in-house training to prepare them to get you in shape!  Though most are not personal trainers, they are well on their way to becoming personal trainers and are excited to offer you low cost training.

Personal Training 

Rates before taxes are:

  • 1 session for $40
  • 3 sessions for $105 ($35 per session)
  • 5 sessions for $135 ($30 per session)
  • 10 sessions for $250 ($25 per session)

Also, available - Certified Personal Training - $50 per session.

Group Training

Not happy training on your own? Train with your friends in groups of 4 to 6 people and get an even better rate. Rates before taxes:

  • One session with 2-5 people for $15 per person
  • Three sessions with 2-5 people for $45 per person

 

Fitness Centre Memberships

Membership includes use of the weight room, showers and lockers upon availability. For TWU students, the Fitness Centre membership is included in their tuition as part of the recreation fee. Please note that fitness classes are not included in this membership. Refer to the Rec Services website for more information about fitness classes or click here.

** Active members of the TWU Alumni Association and Recent Graduates are eligible to a $50 semester and summer rate. To receive the Alumni Association rate contact Melissa Reed (melissa.reed@twu.ca) in the alumni office. For the Recent Graduate rate, bring proof of graduation.

* A one-time $10.50 card fee will be charged the first time you sign up for a membership.

Membership Definitions

       

TWU Alumni

   

 Any Person who has completed 15 or more semester hours at TWU

Recent Graduates

   

Any individual who have graduated in the previous semester. The Recent Graduate's rate only applies for the semester or summer immediately following their graduation

TWU Family

   

Spouse or dependent family members who live in the same household as a current TWU employee or student. Proof of address will be required

Community    

   

Anyone who does not fit under any other membership groups and is not a current student or staff/faculty member. To best serve our students, only a limited number of community passes will be available.

Equipment Lending

If you are a current student be sure to take advantage of our free sports equipment lending located at the Fitness Centre desk. Equipment students can borrow includes: basketballs, volleyballs, indoor/outdoor soccer balls, bouldering wall shoes, frisbees, running safety gear (for running off-campus), tennis raquets & balls plus more!  All you need is a valid student id card to check out equipment. There is no charge as long as items are brought back in good condition. Students either returning items in poor condition or not returning them at all will have the replacement value charged to their account.
