On Friday, July 11, Trinity Western University and the Cihang Group signed an agreement for collaborative program delivery at TWU Richmond. The Cihang Group will work with TWU to deliver community and university courses in areas related to Chinese traditional culture, history, language, and medicine.

“We are excited about the opportunity to develop programs that will meet the needs of people in and around Richmond,” said TWU Associate Provost, Philip Laird Ph.D.

The Cihang group will also deliver a transition program for international students to prepare them for the rigors of university life in Canada. International students who complete this program will be able to continue their studies at either TWU Richmond or TWU’s Langley campus.

“TWU Richmond will bring the high quality education of Trinity Western into the downtown area of Richmond,” said Jacqueline Zeng, Ph.D., Director Cihang International Group Corporation. “We have the competence, strength, and experience to make these programs successful and grow the education of Chinese culture and medicine in the Richmond community."

TWU President Bob Kuhn commented “TWU has a strong history of collaborations with other educational experts in growing fields. Richmond is a thriving community, and we are a learning community that wants to grow with and learn from others as we lead Christian education in Canada.”

TWU Richmond is currently under construction and is expected to open its doors in March of 2015. The campus will focus on the development of leaders by delivering leadership degree programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. TWU is currently offering programs in rented space in the Richmond community.
