Listen to Kim Franklin interviewed on CKNW.

B.C. students will soon write fewer provincial exams—a big change to an established system. Dr. Kim Franklin is available to talk about the purpose of the change and what it will mean for B.C. teachers.

“Teachers will have more freedom to meet the needs of their learners,” says Franklin. “Students will have more voice in the curriculum, more opportunities to learn from formative feedback, more opportunities to apply and share their learning in meaningful ways.

“Most teacher education programs in BC already focus on this kind of curriculum and pedagogy.  It will impact us in the sense of having stronger and affirming practicum  contexts that support what current and sustained research about education, pedagogy and learning has already suggested.”
