Research and Publications

Directors of the DSSI have played a leading role in writing and editing publications in Qumran studies. In addition to numerous journal articles and essays, among their book publications are key text editions (Flint: Discoveries in the Judaean Desert XXXII), resources (Abegg: The Dead Sea Scrolls Concordance), translations (Abegg: The Dead Sea Scrolls: A New Translation; Abegg & Flint: The Dead Sea Scrolls Bible), textbooks (Flint: The Meaning of the Dead Sea Scrolls), and topical monographs (Perrin: Dream-Vision Revelation in the Aramaic Dead Sea Scrolls). The DSSI also sponsors and edits two series with Eerdmans publishers: Studies in the Dead Sea Scrolls and Related Literature and the Eerdmans Commentaries on the Dead Sea Scrolls. For an exhaustive and current list of faculty contributions, see the Orion Center for the Study of the Dead Sea Scrolls bibliography. A significant component of Qumran research at the DSSI also involves more than thirty Master’s theses on scrolls topics over the last two decades.
